Bavarian Music & Dance

The live music at Vail Oktoberfest truly sets the scene for this iconic event. Guests will hear an abundance of traditional oom-pah music, courtesy of Oktoberfest mainstays. The music is accompanied by traditional Bavarian dancers who encourage everyone to get in on the fun. On Friday and Saturday evenings of Vail Oktoberfest, the party will switch gears and guests will enjoy live rock entertainment.

Traditional Bavarian Fare

Authentic and delicious Bavarian fare will be featured throughout the festival! Enjoy bratwursts, pretzels, schnitzel sandwiches, spaetzle, and more. There will also be traditional fair food such as giant turkey legs and funnel cake.

World Keg Bowling Championship

Keg Bowling gives competitors the chance to hurl a keg on wheels down the lane at a pyramid of empty kegs.  It’s not as easy as it seems to bring down the entire pile, and the champion of the day is crowned by total number of kegs knocked over. Competitors must be at least 21 years of age to compete. The winners will be rewarded with an Oktoberfest prize package. There is no cost to participate in Keg Bowling! Sign ups take place one hour before the competition begins. Look for the Vail Oktoberfest Staff!

Bratwurst Eating Contest

Vail Oktoberfest will also see the return of the Bratwurst Eating Contest, where the strong-willed and the strong-stomached battle it out to see who can devour the most brats in two minutes. The competitor who wolfs down the most brats in the allotted time wins, not only a great prize package, but the bragging rights of being a Vail Oktoberfest Bratwurst Eating Champion! There is no cost to participate. Sign ups take place one hour before the competition begins. Look for the Vail Oktoberfest staff!

Stein Lifting Competition

The Stein Lifting Competition, will test the arm strength and stamina of even the fiercest competitors. Competitors will hold FULL beer steins – out from their body at shoulder level. The last person standing will take home an Oktoberfest prize package! There is no cost to participate. Sign ups take place one hour before the competition begins. Look for the Vail Oktoberfest Staff!

Oktoberfest Costume Contest

On one day of each weekend, guests who show up in full Bavarian attire or in another Oktoberfest related costume are invited to participate in the Oktoberfest Costume Contest. There will be divisions for men, women and children. The winner will be determined by crowd response, and that winner will take home an Oktoberfest prize package!
